Synopsis
Based on the novel “Candide” by Voltaire

Original produced by Ethel Linden Reiner and Lester Osterman, Jr. Original Cast included Max Adrian, Robert Rounseville, Barbara Cook, Irra Petina, William Olvis, Louis Edmonds and Conrad Bain.

Revival Production featured an adaptation by Hugh Wheeler of the original book. Additional lyrics provided by John La Touche and Leonard Bernstein. Produced by The Chelsea Theatre Center of Brooklyn in conjunction with Harold Prince and Ruth Mitchell. Revival Cast included Lewis J. Stadlen, Mark Baker, Maureen Brennan, San Freed, June Gable and Deborah St. Darr.
